About Bruce Lee: Bruce Lee was born in San Francisco but was raised in Hong Kong where he began training in martial arts when he was 13. At 18, he attended the University of Washington where he studied philosophy and he trained students in Chinese Gung Fu. He opened his first school, the Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute and later opened schools in Oakland and Los Angeles. He developed new martial arts ideas and training methods which helped him create his own art called Jeet Kune Do. He went on to train celebrities such as Steve McQueen and James Coburn.
Movies and Television: Bruce Lee's training lead to film and television roles. He sparked interest in maritial arts in the west and shortly became an icon. His first appearance was in the show "The Green Hornet" and he was in films such as "The Big Boss", "Fist of Fury", "Enter the Dragon" and "Game of Death".
Bruce Lee Foundation: The Bruce Lee Foundation is a public charity formed in California in 2002. It was created to preserve the legacy of Bruce Lee with his martial art, philosophy and his life through events, educational programs, and marital arts instruction.
